Overview of Services

Physical Examination

Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventative care can help alleviate serious health problems.

Vaccination

Vaccines are recommended according to an individual pet's needs and probable exposure to disease. A complete physical exam is performed prior to most vaccinations. For further details see "vaccination schedules".

Laboratory Services

Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. In an emergency situation we can get valuable information within minutes. We also use an off-site laboratory for more comprehensive and specialized testing. We receive most results within 24 hours. The lab also provides pathology and internal medicine consultants for added expertise regarding difficult or unusual cases.

Radiology

Our on-site, modern x-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders.

Dental Services

Dental care is important in preventing diseases and infections, not just in the mouth, but in the vital organs such as the heart, kidneys and liver. The oral exam performed during your pet's annual physical examination can help recognize problems early so we can treat and correct them. Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, x-rays, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery. Our dentistry suite includes an ultrasonic scaler, high speed drill and a low speed polisher. All dental procedures are performed under anesthesia.

Surgical Services

We offer many surgical services at our hospital. Preventative surgery (spay and neuter) and soft tissue surgery (tumor removal, abscess reduction, laceration and hematoma repair) are by far the most common surgical procedures performed by our skilled veterinarians. We also perform many specialized surgical procedures. These include eye surgery (entropion & ectropion repair, enucleation), ear surgery (Zepps vertical and total canal ablation), orthopedic surgery (fractures, anterior cruciate ligament and luxating patella repair), and perineal surgery (anal sacculectomy and urethrostomy).
Emergency situations that require surgery such as intestinal and urinary obstruction are also performed.
Our top of the line surgical equipment, safe anesthetic drugs and the care of our highly trained staff makes your pet's visit with us as safe and comfortable as possible.

Hospitalization and Treatment

Our facility is equipped to care for pets requiring hospitalized treatment. During the hours the clinic is closed, the veterinarian and/or a technician (under the direction of a veterinarian) will stop by and check a hospitalized pet's status and administer any necessary treatment. Pets that are critical and require constant supervision are referred to a 24 hour facility for care.

On-site Pharmacy

We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription and non-prescription diets.

Emergency Care

Our hospital is equipped for emergency care. During hospital hours we will gladly see your pet in most emergency situations. If your pet requires treatment we cannot provide, we will refer you to a facility that can.

Microchipping

Microchipping is an inexpensive permanent identification for your pet. It is a tiny chip that is quickly and safely injected under your pet's skin between the shoulder blades. Each chip has a unique number code that is detected with a hand-held scanner. This number code (your pet's ID) is then registered in a national database. Most shelters and veterinary clinics use scanners to identify a lost pets with an implanted chip so that they can be returned to their owners.
